SOMETHING'S BREWING MICRO-COMMISSIONS
For the Prestoning online exhibition work by 24 Preston artists, creatives and community groups will be presented here over summer 2020, with an impressive range of art forms these pieces, provocations and projects will feed into the ongoing 12 year cultural strategy for the city.
The term 'Prestoning' was invented during our last strategy workshop - to reflect the unique nature of our city. It might mean 'taking a risk, testing things out, and doing things differently' - think the Preston Model, the Guild, the Mela, egg-rolling, the Carnival - all with a Northern sense of humour and pride. Or you might have your own definitions of what 'Prestoning' could mean! The set of ‘P’ words it inspires could be (but isn't limited to!):
